Learn to Row: 9 Years Old and Up at CRI

For the first time, CRI is offering classes for kids aged 9 and up, in sculling boats that are the right size for very young people! The new location on the Upper Charles offers a protected setting for rowers of all ages, and we have established programs for people from age 9 to 90. At the Harry Parker Boathouse, kids aged 12 and up are welcome, but we have reserved this new stretch of the Charles River above the Watertown Damn for smaller sculling classes focused on young people.

CRI is also offering a Parent Child option for the first time. On Saturday mornings throughout the summer, we invite you and your son or daughter to come and scull together at the new Stoller Boathouse. The classes are appropriate for rowers of all skill levels, and you will have an opportunity to row singles or doubles on the bucolic Upper Charles with an experienced coach providing instruction and guidance.

This amazing new location, the brand new fleet of boats and CRI’s 30 years’ experience of providing safe, fun and healthy activities on the Charles River come together to offer CRIers and the local community the chance to take part in an exciting and healthy sport for the first time. CRI is delighted to partner with Lasell College to open this quiet waterway to the wider CRI Community, offering ‘Rowing for All’ to a much wider audience!

Sign up is available now – go to www.communityrowing.org website and navigate to the CRI Stoller tab on the sign-up page.
