Dirty Boys Composting
Dirty Boys Composting specializes in taking the guesswork and hassle out of backyard composting, so our customers quickly create high quality, usable compost without problems of odors or pests. Our approach of teaching our customers about proper composting techniques, along with providing constructive feedback on their efforts, has resulted in a 100% success rate.
As part of our Starter Service we:
- Deliver a MassDEP recommended compost bin.
- Install your compost bin.
- Set up your compost pile with the optimal level of Nitrogen & Carbon-rich ingredients.
- Jump start your compost pile with our superior quality, Newton-bred, red wiggler worms.
- Check, amend, turn, and report on your compost pile twice after installation.
- Provide feedback on your composting efforts so you know exactly what you are doing correctly and incorrectly.
- Give recommendations on ways to increase the efficiency of your compost pile.
- Keep an eye on your compost pile for the first several weeks to make sure it’s actively decomposing.
- Teach your family about composting.
- Provide phone and email support to answer your composting questions throughout the year.
The fee for this service is $160, and for those already composting (who don’t require a bin) our subscriptions are $130.

What would you do if you couldn’t call 911?
Dear ATASK Friends,
In these challenging times, we need your help more than ever. Despite losing some vital federal funding, we are still determined to deliver the same level of services to our clients, who inspire us with their desire to overcome domestic violence.
Asking for help is not always easy. Many of us take for granted that we can pick up the phone and call 911 in the event of an emergency. We also have the privilege of walking into a provider’s office and asking for help, whether it be for medical, legal, housing, or employment matters. This, however, is not always the case for many of our clients. Due to language barriers, most of our clients do not have the English skills needed to navigate the systems here in the U.S.
Lin is a Chinese immigrant who was afraid to call 911 because she couldn’t speak English. ATASK was able to get her the help she needed. Lin came to our emergency shelter, got legal help, enrolled her child in daycare so she could take English classes, and then later entered a job training program. With the support of ATASK, Lin is now employed, and is proud to be raising her son in a safe and happy environment.
These are difficult times for immigrants, and even more so, for those who live in fear in their very own homes. These are also difficult times for the non-profit agencies that work with vulnerable populations.
ATASK is seeing an increased demand for services, and without your help, we will need to turn families away. ATASK needs to raise an additional $50,000 before the end of the fiscal year to ensure that we have the staff essential to respond to the needs of victims.

Free TEEN Driving Skills for Life Program
This summer, the Ford Motor Company Fund is bringing the Driving Skills for Life program back to New England.

Registration Link (with info): here.In case you haven’t heard about this program before, this (100% free) hands-on driving program is taught by actual race car drivers, and I can tell you that it is a blast.
Teens will learn skills that go beyond driver’s ed. Skills include how to handle a spin out (in a Mustang, no less) as well as speed management, reaction time etc.
They’ll even have to go through a closed course while being utterly distracted by texts and an instructor, as well as donning what we call “impairment” glasses.
It’s a real eye opener for many. With vehicle crashes being the #1 killer of teens throughout the country, we are passionate about giving teens the skills they need behind the wheel, and believe that we’ve found a fun way to do just that.

In WalletHub’s analysis of the Best & Worst States to Raise a Family, Massachusetts ranked No. 6 overall and earned particularly high marks in four out of five categories, including “family fun,” “health and safety,” “education and child care,” and “affordability.” But even in “socio-economics,” the final category, it outranked 28 states. Barry’s Bootcamp Open at The Street
Barry’s, the original cardio and strength interval workout that innovated group fitness with its efficient, immersive and transformative hour-long workout experience, is now open at The Street.
During its first 30 days open, Barry’s at The Street will offer 3-class packages for just $75.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1998, Barry’s was conceived to make getting into the best shape possible and fun. Barry’s signature method utilizes the most effective combination of High Intensity Training (HIT) by incorporating 25-30 minutes of interval-based cardiovascular routines on treadmills with 25-30 minutes of strength training using free weights, resistance bands, and more. The workout is results driven — pushing participants to their physical and mental limits — and efficient. A one-hour class incinerates fat, burns up to 1,000 calories, and releases stress.
