Best Martial Arts Schools in Newton for Kids and Adults

Martial Arts in Newton

Best karate studios in Newton MA evaluated and tested by moms! Giroux Brothers Martial Arts and I have studied kickboxing with owner Steve Giroux. The style is called Chun Kuk Do which is the style of Chuck Norris. We think he’s great and really wonderful with kids. There are two other Karate studios that my kids’ friends’ moms also rave about: Espositos and Master’s of Karate.

Newton Libraries: Main & 2 Branches Run by Volunteers

The Newton Free Library, located at 330 Homer Street (across the street from City Hall). It has (among other things) museum passes, a great audio/visual department, a wonderful children’s room, great gallery space, a good-sized auditorium, and, of course, books.

Dog Friendly Newton: New Off-Leash Dog Parks!

dog park Newton MA Massachusetts New Off Lease Dog Parks

Five off-leash dog parks were just created in Newton. I haven’t been to all of them. I heard that Cabot Woods is great but there can be a lot of ticks. The same can be said for Weston Reservoir which is my dog’s favorite haunt. Be sure to check for ticks after these outings. If you need information about ticks and Lyme disease, I have a link below from my dermatologist. Capability:Mom likes to exercise her dog on the carriage lane down Commonwealth Avenue at the foot of Heartbreak Hill. She has a walking group that meets religiously with or without dogs and they trek up to Walnut Street and back. Whether you walk your dog on or off-leash, there’s no doubt about it. Newton is a dog friendly city!

Best Mommy/Daddy and Me Music Classes for Toddlers and Preschoolers in Newton

Toddler Music Class Newton Mommy and Me Music Class MA

There are plenty of parent and child music classes to choose from in Newton! Many music teachers recommend Music Together. I liked Kindermusic and Let’s Make Music at Warmlines. I also loved the craft/snack/music combo at Time for Partners. There are free singalongs at the Newton Free Library and drop in music classes at Green Planet Kids run by Giggle Kids Music. Music for everyone!
