    Cook Restaurant Welcomes Erica Corsano of The Boston Herald as Part of its Continuing Celebrity Chef Fundraising Series

    WHAT:            Cook, the highly acclaimed American bistro located in Newton, MA is welcoming Erica Corsano, lifestyle editor and social columnist at The Boston Herald, as part of its continuing “Cook for Charity” celebrity chef series. On Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 Erica will roll up her sleeves and get cooking with Executive Chef/Owner Paul Turano where they’ll be serving up flatbreads all evening long. In addition to Cook’s signature menu items, the restaurant will be serving “The Corsano” special, a house-made flatbread with wood-roasted eggplant caponata, goat cheese, arugula and balsamic  ($15). 100 percent of sales from each $15 “The Corsano” flatbread will be donated to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) –Angell Animal Medical Center.

     

    The mission of the MSPCA-Angell is to protect animals, relieve their suffering, advance their health and welfare, prevent cruelty, and work for a just and compassionate society.

    The MSPCA-Angell is a national and international leader in animal protection and veterinary medicine and provides direct hands-on care for thousands of animals each year. Their services include animal protection and adoption, advocacy, humane education, law enforcement, and world-class veterinary care.

     

    Erica is an avid dog-lover and the proud owner of two Jack Russell Terriers, Penelope and Henri. Erica’s deep roots in the lifestyle realm reach back over a decade, beginning in New York City where she worked for some of the world’s most recognized luxury brands (Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, CH Carolina Herrera). She eventually moved over to the media side of life, regularly contributing to publications like Daily Candy and The Boston Globe, and later held editorial positions at Lucky Magazine (Boston Editor), Boston Common Magazine (Editor-at-Large), and STUFF Magazine (Editorial Director). Corsano then helped launch both Gilt City Boston (a subsidiary of Gilt Groupe, Inc.) and the Boston outpost for The Real Real. She is currently a Lifestyle Editor and Social Columnist at the Boston Herald and co-hosts a radio show called “Status Report” on Boston Herald Radio.

     

    This night of cooking is one of several celebrity chef events at Cook, all of which raise money and awareness about a charity chosen by the specific celebrity chef of the evening.     We’ll cover some do’s and don’ts of college essay writing, work on your writing and spend some time in peer review. You’ll also get an opportunity for individual help and feedback.
