    Beethoven’s “Pastoral Symphony” sets a radiant tone for a family program, mixing music of springtime and visual art in celebration of the season! For this idyllic Family Discovery Concert, the New Phil will collaborate with student artists from across the region, including Newton’s All City Orchestra and the New Art Center.

    Wondermore is a non-profit that brings authors and illustrators into the most underserved Boston Public Schools for presentations, writing workshops, and book discussions.

    To kick off the spring season, join us on April 12th for a fun evening of shopping at Portobello Road in Chestnut Hill along with wine and light bites. Portobello Road, A Store with a Soul, has offered to donate 20% of the proceeds to Wondermore.

    If you are unable to join us for the evening event from 6-9 pm, you can also shop and support Wondermore during the day on April 12th (10-6). Please be sure bring along the attached coupon so Wondermore can get credited for your purchase.

    On Saturday, April 9th, Newton Family Singers will host the second in a series of emerging artist concerts, with special guest, folk-pop trio, Peridot, at the intimate and warm Waban Library Center!

    Berklee College of Music grads Hillary Reynolds, Trevor Jarvis and Marton Bisits are talented young artists-and rising stars! NFS is proud to introduce them to our community of music lovers.

    Day PTO, along with Bigelow Middle School, Cabot Elementary School, and Underwood Elementary School PTOs will co-host Joani Geltman, MSW Child Development and Parenting Expert, and Author of A Survival Guide to Parenting Teens.

    Day PTO, along with the Newton North PTSO and others, is hosting Dr. Richard Ginsburg on Wednesday, March 23 from 7pm – 8:30pm at Newton North High School.
    Dr. Ginsburg is a sports psychologist and co-authored the book “Whose Game Is It, Anyway” discussing the virtues of fostering a healthy outlook on sports and “helping parents develop emotionally sound goals for their children while they pursue their best in athletics and life in general.”

    It already feels like Spring outside, so it’s time to start dusting off those running (or walking) shoes! The 24th annual Heartbreak Hill Road Race and Family Walk is a perfect way to shake off some of that cabin fever! Just one mile, up and down famed Heartbreak Hill!

    Every runner receives an official digital-clock time, a race medallion, goody bag and a free ticket to the pre-race pasta party at Newton City Hall on Saturday, April 16th. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place runners in each category win a trophy! The first 500 registrations receive a free t-shirt.
