    Summertime FREE Events at The Street

    The Street announces the return of its beloved series, Summertime at The Street, a fun, seasonal celebration with 150 different forms of entertainment for all ages. This year, Summertime at The Street places a new emphasis on free fitness classes while maintaining its popular kid-friendly fun activities and live music series, with performances by up-and-coming local artists and students from Berklee College of Music’s prestigious program, Summer in the City.

    Summertime at The Street will take place every Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday beginning on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The series will once again conclude with a Pops Concert and Picnic with the 50-piece New Philharmonia Orchestra on Saturday September 19th. All events are free, open to the public and hosted on The Green at The Street, directly across from Shake Shack. The Street is located at 55 Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill, MA; www.TheStreetChestnutHill.com.

    Summertime FREE Events at The Street

    With Summertime at The Street, The Street is excited to exceed expectations for its shopping experience, give guests additional ways to enjoy its well-edited and ever-growing collection of luxe retailers and restaurants and offer creative ways to enjoy summer’s rays. The series also enhances new additions to the property, such as the public art installation, Objects of Desire, by acclaimed photographer Jessica Craig-Martin, upcoming summer openings of Juice Press and MiniLuxe, and al fresco dining options found at The Cottage, Shake Shack, and Legal Sea Foods.

    Summertime at The Street officially kicks off on Tuesday, June 2, 2015; in celebration of its launch there will be the feel good opportunity to give to The Newton Food Pantry all week long. Personal care items can be donated at skoah, Ku De Ta and Bluemercury, while food collections will be located within The Cottage, Pinkberry, Shake Shack and The Urban Grape. Suggested items include non-perishable, canned goods and toiletries. Below is the detailed schedule for Summertime at The Street’s kick-off:

    Kid-Friendly Fun: Tuesday June 2nd at 4:30pm
    Josh and The Jamtones Kickoff Concert + Balloon Animals with Art on The Spot
    20% of sales at Pinkberry donated to The Newton Food Pantry beginning at 4PM

    Shake Shack Table Tennis Tournament: Thursday June 4th at 5pm
    Players will battle it out at The Street’s handsome, custom-made ping-pong table for the chance to win a Golden Paddle, Shake Shack gift cards and Shake Shack swag. Advance registration within Shake Shack is advised.

    Acoustic Evenings: Thursday June 4th at 6pm
    Live performance by Amy & The Engine
    Those who bring a canned good to Shake Shack will receive a complimentary scoop of custard

    Street Sweat, Special Spinning Edition: Saturday June 8th at 12pm, 1:30pm, and 3:00pm
    Three outdoor spin classes with Healthworks Fitness Center.

    Eversource Walk for Boston Children’s Hospital

    The 13th Annual Fundraising Walk will take place at DCR’s Baxter Park, Assembly Row in Somerville on June 14, 2015. Last year’s Walk had over 5,200 walkers and raised over $1.6 million to support the hospital. The goal this year is $1.8 million. Boston Children’s Hospital is encouraging all who are interested in spending the day at Assembly Row and walking for the hospital to register for the 2- and 7-mile walks online at www.bostonchildrens.org/walk.

    What to do with the family in Baxter Park on June 14:

    1. Cookout with your fellow Walkers at the food tent where hamburgers, hot dogs and other grilled items are provided, in addition to snacks and drinks along the walk route.
    2. Craft and decorate crowns, backpacks, bandanas and other Walk gear at the kids activities tent.
    3. Have you face painted because there’s no better way to show team spirit.
    4. Hop into the Bubble Station, complete with multiple kiddie pools and bubble wands.
    5. Dance to the live music of Ben Rudnick & Friends. Their musical style blends bluegrass, rock and New Orleans with fun covers of familiar tunes.
    6. Don’t forget the treats provided by walk sponsors. Each sponsor has a tent on the event field where they will pass out surprise items to walkers like reusable totes, sunglasses, noisemakers, cowbells, etc.

    After the Walk, shop around the Assembly Row outlets, see a movie at the AMC Assembly Row 12, discover Legoland, or grab a bite to eat at one of the 12 Assembly Row eateries.

    Walkers can register for the 2- and 7-mile walks online at www.bostonchildrens.org/walk. Registration is $25 for adults; $5 for children 12 and under. Each adult walker is expected to raise at least $200.  Supporters can also make donations at www.bostonchildrens.org/walk.

    Bright and early on Sunday morning, May 17, 2015, Birthday Wishes will celebrate its fourth annual CakeWalk at Millennium Park in West Roxbury, MA. CakeWalk is our signature fundraising event, reflecting the grassroots nature of our organization and the importance of kids helping kids.

    Participants can sign up to walk either a 5K or half-mile route, and can participate as individuals or form a team with family, friends or colleagues. CakeWalk is a festival-like atmosphere which includes kids’ activities such as face painting, tattoo station, soccer clinic, field games, entertainers, kite making,  live music and free healthy snacks.
