The scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors residing in Newton or Needham or attending a Newton or Needham high school who succeed scholastically while simultaneously giving back to their community.

This year, the award has increased by fifty percent, allotting for two $1,500 awards for college-bound seniors attending an accredited college/university in the fall of 2014. The scholarship is applied towards tuition upon successful completion of their first semester.
